Cassandra Syndrome at the Brass Monkey!

Hey, folks! Did you miss me?

I won't bore you with reasons why I was gone, but I'll jump right in and *gasp* give you some photos! I've got a whole bunch ready to post, but I'll do just a few today. No use overwhelming you guys too soon, right? Right. :)

This past weekend we went to see Cassandra Syndrome at the Brass Monkey Saloon in Fells Point, MD. It's the first time I've had a camera in my hands in months and man... it felt so good.

Suggestions? Rants? Bawdy jokes? Feel free to leave a comment!

Hiatus.

It has been a very, very bad couple of months. Considering this, and all of the promises I have made and broken to everyone, I am putting down the camera and going on indefinite hiatus. As soon as life calms down and I have something new, I will post here.

Until then, be well, be loved, and may life be kind.

Crazy times.

Yes, I've been quiet again. No, I won't offer any excuses, nor any promises I can't be sure to keep. This will be fairly short, but I did want to pop up to show that yes, I'm not dead.

I've had a lot going on. For one thing, I got married last week (yes, I actually went through with it). In the week that's followed, we've had a ring appointment made (Rob Piland is the best), a windshield replaced (his), a therapy appointment (mine), fussing over homework (my 11-year-old stepson), reminders to play Flyff (my 18-year-old stepson), a sick child (my 21-year-old stepson, who's away at college), a tantrum over tooth-brushing (again the 11-year-old), and a check engine light come on amidst five other horrible symptoms that will cost beaucoup bucks to fix (mine).

*breathes*

Yeah.

I hope to have some photos up for you soon, even if they're plain ol' merchandise photos (which I do like doing, but I know they can be boring). I will make no promises as to when.

But I'm not gone.

Maryland Renaissance hosts Albannach

I'm sick today, but I did have an absolute blast playing at the Maryland Renaissance Festival on Saturday. I got to wander around being invisible (also known as "wearing normal clothes") with a camera around my neck. I didn't take many random pictures; my main mission was to photograph Albannach.

Kit and I first encountered Albannach last year at Faire; we could hear the thumping of the drums from the main gate. Their energy was astounding and we were immediately hooked. We watched the Faire schedule carefully this year and were ecstatic to see that they would be at Faire twice. Not only did we get to watch the show on Saturday, but the stage they played was just down the lane from the booth we work; we got to hear them and watch The Rogues while we were working, and we danced around the booth while selling horns. It's these times that I love where I work.

Being that I'm sick and am relegated to a laptop to edit, I've only got a couple today. Hopefully I'll have more this week, but for now, I present Kyle and Jamesie, two of the six members of Albannach.

Renn Faire!

Hello again! Just popping on around the insanity to let you know that I might have some new images for you wonderfully patient people on Monday or Tuesday - I have a planned play day tomorrow at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, which means I get to wander around with a camera instead of hawking at a booth all day. Good potential for fantastic shots, huzzah!

If you'll be anywhere near the Faire on Sunday, however, my Kit and I will be working at Ages Gone Clothing/Wassail Horns. Come see us - and the infamous Texas Teacup - and learn exactly what crazy thing I do during Faire that makes it enough fun to come back every year despite all of my complaints. The cannon goes off at 10AM sharp - we'll be there all day!
